The Employment Training Program is a program that is offered to participants at the Challenge Center. Through a real-life paid work experience, this program is designed to assist individuals in gaining or regaining a valued role in the working environment and it allows individuals to practice the skills that have been taught during Challenge Center classes as well as on the job training.
The employment positions include Receptionists and Cleaners for the Challenge Center. While working in these positions, participants now have the role as an employee of Hand In Hand, and do all the job activities and responsibilities of any receptionist or cleaner. Individuals in the employment training program learn the work skills in a safe, no-fail work place with lots of support and training.
The vision of the program is to help individuals to build employment skills and become empowered in their working environment which will give the confidence, experience and inspiration to find employment in their community if they wish to do so.
