Gena Dunkle B.S.

Psychiatric Rehabilitation Worker

Gena is married and has two adult children. She enjoys spending time with her
family going camping, bowling, playing cornhole and different games. Gena has two dogs that are
her “babies and are spoiled rotten.”
In Gena’s spare time she enjoys going to Bible study and doing devotions, reading, watching movies,
riding bikes, going for walks, fishing, enjoying the outdoors, and hanging out with friends and
family.
Gena graduated from Clarion University with a Bachelor of Science in Habilitative Science. She has
worked in the mental health field for most of her career with a few years spent in early
intervention. Gena enjoys working in the mental health field because “I love to work with people and
help them to overcome obstacles in their life to become the best version of themselves that they
can. There is a lot of stigma that goes along with mental illness and it is important to me to help
change that.”
Gena came to work at the Challenge Center because she believes in recovery and loves to support
people who are on this journey. Gena says  “It is inspiring to know that people come here voluntarily, are
serious about recovery, and are ready to work to learn the skills to have a better life.”
